At a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance, Mali presented the new ambassador with the most important current economic topics important for Serbia, as well as to economic successes during the great world crisis.
The Deputy Prime Minister also informed Ferguson about the great success of Serbia – organisation of the specialised exhibition EXPO in 2027, stating that it is a great chance for Serbia, but also for the region.
Mali said that Serbia has no outstanding issues with the United Kingdom, and recalled the credit and financial cooperation with Great Britain on the construction of the Morava Corridor.
As he pointed out, Serbia and Great Britain have room to cooperate more intensively in areas such as energy, construction, ICT services, with the expectation that cooperation will also be realized on large infrastructure projects.
The Ambassador emphasised that he starts his mandate with a great ambition to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
Looking at the economy, 2022 is a record year in the cooperation between the two countries. The largest total exchange of goods was achieved, in the amount of €788.3 million. Exports reached €456.6 million, while imports amounted to €331.7 million, which are their maximum values in the last 10 years.
