Petkovic underlined that the two Serbian boys lost their young lives because of an insane ideology of hatred, which is directed towards the entire Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, its culture, spirituality, script and general duration.
It is incomprehensible that this monstrous crime took place before the international community, that is, after the arrival of the international mission to Kosovo and Metohija, which is responsible for the protection of human rights, punishment of crimes and introduction of the rule of law, Petkovic recalled.
He added that, despite the promise of UNMIK representatives that “no stone will be left unturned“ in their search for the murderers, in 2010 the case was closed as the investigation yielded no results and the perpetrators of the crime against the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija remained unfound, nameless and unpunished.
We recall that on 13 August 2003, in an armed attack on more than fifty Serbian children who were swimming in the Bistrica River, Pantelija Dakic (12) and Ivan Jovovic (19) were killed, whereas Djordje Ugrenovic (20), Bogdan Bukumiric (14), Marko Bogicevic (12) and Dragana Srbljak (13) were seriously wounded.
