Tanaskovic, after the first meeting of the Operational Team for the Prevention, Suppression and Eradication of African Swine Fever (ASF), pointed out that the encouraging data is that the number of local self-government units where swine infection was recorded remained the same, that is, it did not increase.
The African Swine Fever has been confirmed in the territory of 32 municipalities in 13 administrative districts, she stated and repeated that the state will pay the owners according to the market value per kilogram of meat for each euthanised animal.
The help of the army, the police and the prosecutors’ offices means a lot to us and that in the coming period the emphasis will be placed on the control of the illegal transport of pigs, as well as future large events that will be held locally in order to stop the spread of the infection, she explained.
