Closing his visit to Vienna, Parivodic said that land reform is the priority for Serbia's economic recovery and added that apart from Austria, assistance will be given by Switzerland and Germany.
Parivodic said that he requested assistance from Austrian experts who will propose ideas which will later be turned into concrete solutions. He voiced hope that the first meeting with Austrian experts will be held as soon as April.
Parivodic recalled that he signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries http://www.srbija.sr.gov.yu/vesti/vest.php?id=21020 with Austrian Minister of Economy and Labour Martin Bartenstein.
He also held a meeting at the Austrian Chamber of Commerce with representatives of large companies which are interested in investing in Serbia, who used the opportunity to point to the problems they face in the Serbian market.
The Minister specified that the main problems concern land issues and that those problems constantly repeat. For that reason, Parivodic asked the Austrian Minister of Justice to give Serbia expert support for the solution of four land-related issues.
The first issue is the legalisation of illegally built objects, then the restitution of the city building land, i.e. its privatisation.
The third issue is a law on registration of real estate in the Serbian Geodetic Institute, which is currently in preparation, and the fourth issue is a new spatial management law that will regulate the construction and urban planning legislation, Parivodic said.
