Begovic assessed that this visit represents a significant step in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Serbia and the US in the field of science, technological development and innovation.
The Minister pointed out that the open dialogue with American partners provided opportunities for further improvement of cooperation, exchange of knowledge and experiences, which will contribute to the further progress of Serbia in these key areas.
She stated that in the conversation with Schwier, she presented the achievements of Serbia in digitisation, especially the success in the implementation and application of digital technologies in elementary schools, including areas such as programming and artificial intelligence.
Begovic said that she also presented the scientific ecosystem of Serbia, especially the Bio4 project as extremely important for our country, but also for the entire Western Balkans, adding that our country wants to be the leader in preparing the entire region for the challenges ahead.
The Minister pointed out that her interlocutor positively assessed Serbia's accelerated progress in the field of digitisation and the application of artificial intelligence, as well as the decision to make biotechnology a key industrial branch in which our country is ready to invest.
Begovic also talked with the Senior Director of the Europe Centre at the Atlantic Council about Serbia's progress in digitisation and its importance in modern society, as well as about the scientific and startup ecosystem and our country's plans to support the further development of the startup community.
She positively assessed the fact that the Atlantic Council pays attention to the development of Serbia and is fully informed about all the steps our country is taking in the digitalisation process.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the fact that more and more companies are opening research centres in Serbia, which confirms that the country has become an important destination for research and development in the world.
This meeting represents another step in building international partnerships and strengthening Serbia's position in the global community. The government continues its dedicated work on advancing digital transformation and creating favourable conditions for the advancement of science, technology and innovation in the country, with the aim of ensuring a prosperous future for all citizens.
