The Minister, who has been answering citizens' questions by phone, said that around 40% of calls were complaints to court inefficiency and corruption.
Stojkovic pointed out that this problem was inherited from the previous period in which there was a complete lack of discipline in the judiciary. However, it has been partially reduced by proceedings before the Grand Personal Council, who released several judges from their office for unconscientious behaviour.
He pointed out that the new supervisory and control measures have finally done what should have been done long ago, that is they helped make heads of courts the first among equals and made them responsible for the work of their courts.
According to Stojkovic, by strengthening heads of courts the number of outstanding cases has been reduced by half in eight months.
