In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Bozovic said they agreed that it is necessary to begin and intensify cooperation between Serbia and Macedonia regarding both their interior ministries and departments of internal control.
"We agreed on the necessity of this cooperation because organised crime, corruption, terrorism and similar negative social phenomena are regardless of state borders, while perpetrators of these wrongs are very well linked", said Bozovic.
He also met with Director of the Public Security Bureau Cane Capragoski and Director of the Security and Counterintelligence Administration Mile Zecevic and discussed the specifics of future cooperation.
They also talked about technical and financial problems that the Serbian and Macedonian police are faced with and agreed it is important that the cooperation between the countries becomes as close as possible in the upcoming period.
Bozovic is attending an international gathering themed "A Glance into the Past and the Future" organised by the Boris Trajkoski Foundation on the occasion of the anniversary of the former Macedonian presidents' tragic death.
During the two-day event, an international forum will take place at which leadership and changes in the contemporary and challenging world will be looked at.
Bozovic announced that as the national coordinator for police and human rights, he will plead for the release of imprisoned Bishop Jovan at the forum, who is serving a two and a half year prison sentence in Bitolj. Bozovic will try to solve this issue, which is encumbering both Serbia and Macedonia, in a Christian and civilised manner, in line with the principles of human dignity and rights and with the aim of strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.
