JICA representatives expressed their gratitude to the team of the Ministry of Mining and Energy for their support in the implementation of ongoing projects and expressed their interest in cooperation on the new construction project of RHE Bistrica.
Djedovic stated that a special project team was formed and, together with EPS representatives, they will continue with the preparation of project and technical documentation.
In parallel with the preparation of the environmental impact study and design, it is important to continue discussions on securing financing, because it is a large project with a capacity of 628 MW, Djedovic said.
The Minister pointed out that the construction of RHE Bistrica is a priority project in the Plan for the Development of Energy Infrastructure and Energy Efficiency Measures, adopted by the government of Serbia, and will play an important role in our efforts to increase energy production from renewable sources.
At the meeting, information was exchanged on the progress of works on the construction of the desulphurisation plant at the Nikola Tesla A Thermal Power Plant, which will significantly reduce emissions of harmful gases from this power plant.
