The discussions we had on the panels talk about the importance that the state of Serbia attaches to overall relations and cooperation with the diaspora, as well as the desire for most of you to return to your homeland, now that the political and economic situation in our country is much better than in the decades that behind us, he said.
According to him, all the speakers emphasised the importance and need for the diaspora to receive its own department in the next government of Serbia, for our people from the diaspora to have their own house in Belgrade whose doors will always be open to them and where they will always be able to get the necessary help they need.
When it comes to economic cooperation, President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez and all participants in the panel made it clear the desire of both the state and all our businessmen from the diaspora to relocate or bring their business, knowledge and capital to the motherland.
It is in the mutual interest of all of us, but also of our entire people. Businessmen from the diaspora can contribute to the economic development of Serbia through investments and employment of our people, but also make their own profit at the same time.
The working group that will be formed immediately after the Assembly will take into account all the suggestions and ideas of diaspora representatives in order to determine a long-term strategy and a draft of a new law through which we would give our diaspora a more favourable position when investing in Serbia, Milicevic concluded.
