Naumov said that during the winter season no electricity was imported and there was no threat of shortage at any time, and added that this winter a historical record was achieved in Serbia in the production of electricity.
He stressed that until now it has not occurred that all capacities in electricity production during the winter have worked without interruption and at full capacity, given this fact Serbia’s electro-economy has become the strongest in the region.
He said that electricity shortages can be talked about in the future, and added that energy development strategy has already been adopted until the year 2015, which envisages all priorities.
According to Naumov, problems in the supply of electricity could appear by the year 2010 if one capacity of 800 megawatts is not built. For this reason a tender has already been announced for the completion of “Kolubara B”, and work is also being done on achieving energy efficiency he explained.
Naumov said that within 15 days the prices of oil and oil derivates could fall, if the global trend of falling crude oil prices continues.
