At today's meeting, the government of Serbia adopted the Decree on establishing the state programme for assistance and reconstruction of damaged family residential buildings owned by citizens due to the effects of floods in May and June 2023. The damaged buildings will be categorised according to the degree of damage and the amount of state aid is determined for each category.
It is important to note that the government increased the amounts of state aid for all five categories of damage caused by floods, to a significant extent. The first category of damage was increased from RSD 120,000 to RSD 200,000, the second category of damage from RSD 200,000 to RSD 300,000, the third category of damage from RSD 250,000 to RSD 400,000, the fourth category of damage from RSD 350,000 to RSD 500,000 and for the fifth category of damage, the compensation was increased from RSD 600,000 to RSD 800,000.
Based on the records of local self-government units, in 56 cities and municipalities where a state of emergency was declared, approximately 1,600 family residential buildings owned by citizens were damaged, and that is why it was necessary to provide specific assistance to this vulnerable population in the form of non-refundable financial resources.
Government members adopted the Conclusion on the consent to allow beneficiaries of the scholarship of the Fund for Young Talents, after completing their studies, to participate in the professional practice programme "Talents in the public sector", based on the Competition for scholarships for up to 1,050 best students in the final year of undergraduate academic studies and up to 500 students in the final year of master's academic studies from higher education institutions founded by the Republic of Serbia for the 2022/23 school year.
Students who receive a scholarship and conclude a scholarship agreement have the obligation to complete a paid professional internship in public administration bodies or institutions founded by the Republic of Serbia for a period of three months, with the possibility of extension to nine months, with a monthly monetary compensation of RSD 40,000 net.
