Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus and head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia-Montenegro Hans Ola Urstad said during today’s talks that reforms in the areas of judiciary, police and the media, as well as the fight against corruption are key factors which will decide the speed of Serbia’s integration into the European Union.
Urstad said that these segments will be priorities in the work of the OSCE, while pointing out the importance of the implementation of the laws adopted so that a reliable constitutional framework can be secured. He stressed that OSCE has excellent cooperation with the Serbian government and expressed support for Serbia-Montenegro joining the EU.
Labus agreed that even more important than adopting laws, which are in line with the regulations of the EU, are their implementation. According to Labus, implementation of laws and an effective judicial system will be the best message to investors to invest capital in the country’s economy.
