Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus and Serbian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ivana Dulic-Markovic met today with a Slovenian business delegation to discuss the possibility of further improvement of economic cooperation between the two countries.
The participants in the meeting said that the volume of foreign trade between Serbia and Slovenia has increased but that there is potential for further improvement of that cooperation. This is especially the case concerning the area of transport infrastructure, the best example being the cooperation between the two governments on construction of the Constanta-Trieste oil pipeline.
Labus pointed out that the Serbian government supports the UN proposition to form a Western Balkans free trade zone which would increase the volume of trade in the region and open up new opportunities for domestic businessmen to export their products.
Members of the Slovenian delegation pointed out once again that Slovenia is ready to help Serbia in the process of European integration, which will considerably improve the image of the country and provide additional legal security to future investors.
