Vucevic told Ministers Bobrovniczky and Crosetto that Serbia is determined to preserve peace and stability in the region and underlined that the violence against Serbs, which is carried out by the temporary institutions of self-government in Pristina, must be stopped as soon as possible.
He reiterated the position of the President of the Republic expressed at the meeting with the ambassadors of the Quint countries that the condition for maintaining peace in our southern province is the immediate withdrawal of fake mayors from the municipalities in the north of Kosovo and Metohija and of the special forces of the so-called Kosovo Police.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his regret over the injury of KFOR soldiers.
Vucevic shared with his counterparts from Hungary and Italy deep concern about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and expressed the hope that KFOR, as the only legal and legitimate armed force, will be able to protect Serbs and other non-Albanians, in accordance with Resolution 1244, from the repressive actions of Albin Kurti’s administration.
Szalay-Bobrovniczky said that Hungary is advocating the urgent calming of tensions in Kosovo and Metohija and emphasised the necessity of solving all open issues by diplomatic means.
The Italian Minister of Defence said that his country will continue to promote the reduction of tensions in the region, which, according to him, is of strategic importance for the whole of Europe.
