Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with a group of senators from the United States (US) about the deepening and development of economic and political cooperation, relations in the region and other areas of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister and the American senators agreed that the full implementation of the Brussels Agreement is extremely important, not only for the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, but also for ensuring sustainable stability and peace in the region.
The Prime Minister pointed out once again that Pristina not only did not fulfil the agreement, but that the so-called Kosovo administration suspended a large part of the rights from that agreement that refer to the Serbs living in the province.
Pristina had more than a decade to implement the Brussels Agreement, but instead it has been actively working against it in the last two years, as shown by the fact that Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija were forbidden to vote in the elections, Brnabic stressed and in that context highlighted the refusal of Pristina to form the Community of Serb Municipalities.
At the meeting, it was said that cooperation in the business and economic field is at the highest level so far, and that the information technology sector has its own special place in it, but that there is certainly more room for improvement.
Additional potential for cooperation also exists in the field of energy, with which both sides agree.
The senators expressed their condolences to the Prime Minister regarding the tragic events in Serbia and pointed out that the responsible measures taken by the state, when it comes to handing over illegal weapons in the possession of citizens, have already shown excellent results.
The meeting in the Serbian government was attended by US senators Christopher Murphy and Gary Peters and US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill.
