Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus talked today with the head of the French Economic Mission in the Balkans and representatives of the French Embassy to Serbia-Montenegro about the current economic and political situation in Serbia.
The foreign delegation expressed interest in the course of negotiations of Serbia and the EU on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement, and in the recently achieved arrangement with the International Monetary Fund.
The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the EU has shown excellent judgment in assessing the readiness of the Serbian talks-team and announced that negotiations will be continued in February.
The collocutors concluded that the economic climate of Serbia has significantly improved and that huge possibilities for direct investment exist, with the reminder that securing political stability is as necessary as the continuation of reforms.
