Comprehensive bilateral relations with Hungary at their highest

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic talked today with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, who is on a visit to Belgrade as part of the 13th session of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Hungary.

In an extremely friendly and cordial atmosphere, the ministers noted that comprehensive bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Hungary are at their highest level in recent history, which is also confirmed by the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Hungary on friendly relations and cooperation in the field of strategic partnership, which came into effect in January of this year.

In the spirit of existing strategic relations and partnership, the ministers also discussed the upcoming bilateral activities at the highest level scheduled for June of this year, which will further improve good neighbourly relations and successful cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Hungary.

On behalf of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian people, Dacic expressed his gratitude to Hungary for the recent vote regarding the request of so-called "Kosovo" for membership in the Council of Europe, according to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
