Radomir Naumov
During his visit to the Srednjebanatski district, Naumov said that construction of Banatski Dvor underground gas storage must be a major priority, since that is the only way to provide a stable and reliable gas supply in the winter period.
The minister explained that the underground gas storage will be built in two phases, the first phase implies reaching a 300-million-cubic-metre storage capacity. The cost of the first phase is estimated at €40 million.
According to Naumov, this phase also includes preparation of project documentation, procurement of equipment, construction of necessary pipelines, positioning of measuring equipment and completion of an energy block.
Naumov estimated that if first supplies of gas are delivered to the storage in June, it would be possible to start using the stored gas by the end of the next heating season.
Following the completion of the second phase, the storage should reach a capacity of 800 million cubic metres, which would greatly contribute to a stable and balanced gas supply in Serbia.
Naumov reiterated that the completion of the underground gas storage in Banatski Dvor and the construction of Bulgaria-Nis pipeline will enable a stable gas supply, and added that it is also planned to connect Serbia and Romania through the Temisvar-Mokrin gas pipeline, and also Serbia and Croatia through Sombor-Osijek gas pipeline.
In Zrenjanin, Naumov met with head of the Srednjebanatski district Zoran Vucic and President of the Zrenjanin municipality Goran Knezevic. He also visited the thermoelectric power plant and city heating plant in Zrenjanin, as well as a liquid gas production plant in Elemir.
