Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Milos Vucevic met today with Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Gabonese Republic Yolande Nyonda, who is a on a visit to our country with a delegation of Gabon.
Vucevic and Nyonda discussed the possibilities of establishing cooperation in the field of defence, which would contribute to the improvement of overall relations between Serbia and Gabon.
He also recalled that half a century since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is marked this year, and that our side wants to develop relations and cooperation in all areas of common interest.
During today's meeting, Vucevic expressed his gratitude to the Gabonese side for withdrawing the recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of "Kosovo", as well as for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country.
Minister Nyonda agreed that there is room for establishing cooperation in areas of common interest and that as a first step in that direction, it is necessary to sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of defence.
During the talks, priority areas of cooperation were defined, which, after the signing of the agreement, would be developed in mutual interest.
