Presenting the conclusions of the meeting, which was also attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Serbian government members, Vucic said that the Serbian government will request from the EU and other international factors to enable Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, who use legal and legitimate license plates, a complete freedom of movement.
We ask for nothing more but that Pristina acts in line with the agreements from the dialogue and all other relevant international documents. If they reject a compromise solution, the Serbian side will respond with strong political measures to protect the constitutional order, Vucic emphasised.
A request for the unconditional and urgent formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities was adopted at the meeting, which is an absolute prerequisite for all further steps in the dialogue with Pristina and a precondition for the return of Serbs to Kosovo institutions.
According to him, the Community of Serb Municipalities should be formed exclusively in line with the four agreements from the dialogue that have been reached so far.
One of the requests also refers to the withdrawal of special units of the Kosovo Police from the north of Kosovo and Metohija, who are there illegally, the President said and added that all representatives of the international community are familiar with that and that we will demand the withdrawal of those units in every place.
The conclusion on the additional financial support to Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija was also adopted.
He stated that the Republic of Serbia will take all legal political, economic and other measures in order to protect life and basic human and political rights of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija and this deals first and foremost with a comprehensive social and economic progress in Serbian communities.
The President also said that the state of Serbia did not participate in the decision of Serbs from the north of the province to not take part in the local elections, but that it will never leave its people in the lurch.
This is precisely why we will not go against the Serbian List, nor against all the others who made the decision not to participate in the elections, he stated.
Vucic reiterated that the task of Belgrade authorities is to continue the talks and to try to achieve the normalisation of relations with Pristina.
For us, compromise is a good word, we have to insist on it, but I am afraid that someone does not want it, Vucic said.
