Serbia's candidacy for EXPO 2027 presented

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic organised today a reception for representatives of the diplomatic corps on the occasion of the presentation of the candidacy of the Republic of Serbia for the organisation of the Specialised World Exhibition EXPO 2027.

On that occasion, Dacic pointed out that Serbia, with its candidacy for organising EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, through the topics of games and sports, wants to promote the spirit of cooperation, sports and fair competition so that the world could perhaps be seen in a different way.

We are deeply convinced that Serbia can offer a healthy environment and ideal conditions for the organisation of such an event, Dacic said, pointing out that the region of Southeast Europe has not hosted such an event in the last 30 years.

According to him, our goal is for this exhibition to be dedicated to the promotion of the region, economically, culturally and in every other sense.

We will try to pay special attention to those countries and regions that have no competitors in this competition, I mean developing countries and the least developed countries, for which a special concept and programme for cooperation and participation is provided, he pointed out.

Dacic said that if Serbia is chosen as the host of this prestigious event, you can be sure that you are all welcome and that Serbia will prove to be a great host, which we have proven many times in the past years when organising numerous international events and gatherings, the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
