The Minister assessed that the cooperation between Serbia and America is good, but that there is always room for improvement, specifying that in our country there are approximately 700 companies with majority American capital employing around 30,000 people.
We encourage the investors present to develop business in Serbia, which brought unemployment to a record low level of 8.9 percent, said Mali and pointed out that last year Serbia was the fastest growing economy in Europe.
We have set priorities, we are achieving high levels of foreign direct investments, a positive GDP result, which means that there is stability and confidence that Serbia is a good investment destination, stated the Deputy Prime Minister.
He emphasised that Serbia's exports to the USA have doubled in the last five years, while the value of goods exchange has increased 1.7 times and it exceeded €1.3 billion in 2022.
Mali expressed his gratitude to American companies, which are among the largest foreign investors in Serbia with investments of approximately four billion dollars so far, specifying that direct net investments of the USA in Serbia since 2010 amount to €771.8 million.
According to him, our goal is for investments to continue to grow, because Serbia needs investments to maintain the economic results it has achieved.
The investors present praised the response of the state during the covid crisis given that the citizens of Serbia were among the first to have available vaccines, and the necessary new hospitals were built rapidly.
