Tomica Milosavljevic
Minister Milosavljevic, who is on a two-day official visit to Budapest, said on the occasion of the national day against tobacco smoke that the fine for an individual caught smoking in a prohibited place, which has stood at 50 dinars so far, will be increased to 5,000 to 10,000 dinars, for managers to 50,000, and for a legal entity to 500,000 dinars.
The implementation of these regulations will be monitored by several ministries. That entails control in the institutions of the state administration, in health and educational institutions, food production plants, closed facilities and workplaces where there is at least one non-smoker, the minister specified.
Milosavljevic recalled that Serbia-Montenegro ratified the Framework Convention for Tobacco Control of the World Health Organisation last year committing Serbia-Montenegro to do everything to protect the health of its citizens over the next five years.
