During a joint address to the journalists after the meeting with Dussey, Dacic reiterated that Togo, along with 26 other countries, withdrew the decision to recognise "Kosovo", stressing that this is important from our point of view because it opens up a chance for negotiations.
Those who want an "independent Kosovo" want to do it by shortcut, by force or by over voting in certain international forums. With our policy, we have returned dialogue to the political scene, Dacic added.
The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia and Togo are bound by a traditional and sincere friendship, which may have been forgotten at times.
We want to strengthen and renew that cooperation, above all in areas of our mutual interest, to help each other, said Dacic, adding that there is a lot of room for improving relations.
He announced that a general cooperation agreement will be signed so that good relations are restored.
We have to cherish old friendships. Our economic cooperation is bad and last year it was somewhere around one million or two million dollars, which is really very little compared to all the capacities we have, said the First Deputy Prime Minister, adding that Serbia has been committed to developing relations with African countries in recent years.
Dussey confirmed his unreserved support for Serbia when it comes to its territorial integrity.
We in Togo recognise only an integral Serbia, he said, expressing gratitude to Dacic for accepting 10 students from Togo, who are scholarship recipients of the Serbian government.
Dacic and Dussey signed the Agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic passports.
