Dacic, at a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, said that he and his Hungarian colleague discussed providing enough energy for both the citizens and the economy of Serbia, but also other topics, political, foreign policy and regional ones.
He said that Serbia is firmly determined to preserve peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija and that it wants a political agreement on all open issues.
We believe that the issue of Kosovo and Metohija can only be resolved through compromise, and we are very sensitive to the fact that it is approached in accordance with the policy of double standards when it comes to territorial integrity.
According to him, until a political solution is reached, the admission of "Kosovo" to the Council of Europe is absolutely unacceptable, because only states are admitted there.
Dacic recalled that he signed the Brussels Agreement in 2013, and that the agreement has not been implemented for nine years.
The First Deputy Prime Minister underlined that two serious security challenges the EU is facing affect Serbia and Hungary at the same time, namely the consequences of the war in Ukraine and illegal migration.
Prolonging the war or its escalation means a very serious danger for both our countries and peoples, even though we are not responsible for that war, Dacic pointed out.
Szijjarto noted that Hungary will not support the membership of "Kosovo" in the EU bodies, until a comprehensive agreement is reached.
As far as "Kosovo" is concerned, we are also interested in reaching a solution based on dialogue. And that is why we accepted the leadership of the KFOR forces because we believed that in this way we could contribute to ensuring peace. We want to reach a compromise as soon as possible. If certain European institutions were to grant membership to "Kosovo" before the agreement was reached, it would jeopardise the achievement of a compromise and therefore Hungary will vote against the membership of "Kosovo" in European bodies, said Szijjarto.
According to him, the pledge of security of energy supply today is in Serbia, because only in Europe is the flow of gas from the East to the West functioning with 100 percent capacity through the gas pipeline through Serbia.
He underlined that Hungary is ready to help Serbia additionally when it comes to energy commodities.
