First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic congratulated new Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Qin Gang on his appointment to this position.
"Your Excellency,
On the occasion of your appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, I send you my hearty congratulations and best wishes for the successful performance of this responsible duty. I am convinced that the People's Republic of China, with you at the head of diplomacy, will further strengthen its reputation on the international level and achieve new successes in all areas of its development.
It will be a great honour for me to continue with you the cooperation that I had with your predecessor, Wang Yi, in further strengthening our traditionally close and unbreakable ties, cooperation in all areas, even closer cooperation and connecting our two friendly peoples, as well as joint performance in preserving the basic principles of international law and the key principles of the United Nations Charter, at a time of enormous challenges that we face on a global scale.
I use this opportunity to once again reiterate the firm determination of the Republic of Serbia for the further enrichment and development of all-round cooperation with the People's Republic of China on the basis of a comprehensive strategic partnership and steel friendship, as well as through the mechanism of cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Chinese initiative "Belt and Road ", to which I am ready to, as before, continue to provide a strong personal contribution.
We highly appreciate the continued support of the People's Republic of China to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, i.e. the non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo. I assure you that the Republic of Serbia will continue to provide strong and consistent support for the policy of "one China" and the principle of "one country - two systems".
I sincerely look forward to our future joint cooperation, with an invitation to you to visit the Republic of Serbia as soon as possible, as well as with my personal willingness to visit your beautiful country again at a mutually acceptable time, which would be a special honour and pleasure for me.
In anticipation of our meeting as soon as possible, please accept, Your Excellency, once again my hearty congratulations and expressions of my high esteem," reads the greeting card.
