Serbian government offers all necessary assistance in helping injured

Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica had a telephone conversation tonight with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, in which he offered all necessary assistance to help prevent casualties and attend to the injured passengers who have suffered an accident this afternoon in Bioca near Podgorica.

Kostunica and Djukanovic agreed to keep constantly in touch, and Serbian Ministers of Interior and Health, Dragan Jocic and Tomica Milosavljevic, also contacted their Montenegrin counterparts.
Around 5 pm today, the 12:30 electrical passenger train from Bijelo Polje to Podgorica derailed near the town of Bioca and four railcars with passengers inside plunged into the Moraca canyon into a ravine over 30 meters deep.
Montenegrin Minister of Traffic Andrija Lompar, who has been to the scene of the accident today together with the Montenegrin Prime Minister, said that all available rescue teams are engaged in the rescue of passengers, as well as ambulances and police and army helicopters, but added that the rescue is seriously obstructed by the inaccessible terrain and a strong northern wind in the canyon.
