In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Ilic said that Telekom will start the distribution of SIM cards at the company's distribution points in Serb enclaves in Kosovo-Metohija (Gracanica, Strpce and Raniluk), where unidentified persons have disabled mobile phone transmitter masts of the 063 mobile telephone network.
Ilic expressed regret over the fact that the switch-off of the 063 repeaters prevented Kosovo Serbs from using that mobile phone network in the province, which is why the government decided to present 064 mobile phone cards to all persons who had previously used 063 mobile phone network and enable them uninterrupted usage of mobile telephony services.
According to Ilic, if the interest arises, additional amount of free-of-charge mobile telephone cards will be distributed in the province.
"In this way, Telekom Srbija is trying to help Serbian population in Kosovo-Metohija to continue using the services of mobile telephony without obstruction until the transmitter masts of the 063 network are repaired," explained the minister.
