Serbian Minister of Education and Sport Slobodan Vuksanovic, who is heading the Ministry's delegation on a three-day ministerial meeting in London, said today that the key to successful education lies in the hands of elementary school teachers.
In a statement to the Tanjug news agency, Vuksanovic said that regardless of how well technically equipped a school is and what facilities it has, everything depends on methodological expertise of teachers.
He said that this is the bottom line of the London meeting, and it confirms that the Serbian Ministry of Education and Sport is right in its determination to focus on the professional development of teachers.
The Ministry's delegation was invited to the seminar themed "Expanding the Knowledge of the Young" by British Education Secretary Ruth Kelly, and during their stay in London, the representatives will have an opportunity to establish cooperation with their colleagues from all over the world since a number of bilateral meetings has been organised within the seminar.
