The team co-president and chief negotiator, Serbian President Boris Tadic, and chief negotiator and Serbia-Montenegrin Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Draskovic also attended the meeting, as well as other team members.
The platform, which was unanimously adopted after a short discussion, is based on principles that have been applied in previously adopted documents of state organs, namely the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, essential autonomy for Kosovo-Metohija within Serbia, formation of a Serbian entity in Kosovo through the process of overall decentralisation, protection of orthodox churches, monasteries and the entire cultural heritage in the province, as well as protection of public and private property in Kosovo.
Members of the delegation that will attend the talks on decentralisation in Vienna scheduled for late January, have been appointed at the meeting. The delegation will comprise the negotiating team members Leon Kojen, Slobodan Samardzic, Goran Bogdanovic and Marko Jaksic, as well as members of the working group for decentralisation Randjel Nojkic and Milorad Todorovic. The team’s Standing Advisor Thomas Fleiner will be in the delegation, too.
In light of the upcoming talks in Vienna, the team paid special attention today to decentralisation issues in Kosovo-Metohija. It agreed that one part of the adopted platform that refers to decentralisation and the future institutionalised status of the Serbian community in Kosovo will be stated in public in the course of next week.
