Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali said today that Serbia and the United Arab Emirates have signed an agreement on a €1 billion loan, at an interest rate of only three percent, which, according to him, is very important news for the citizens of Serbia, because that money will further strengthen our public finances.

Mali, who is part of a delegation of our country, led by President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, that is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, pointed out that an interest rate of only three percent is unthinkable at the moment, because interest rates on the market range between seven and 7.5 percent.
We save $40-45 million on interest alone, Mali said, pointing out that in this way Serbia strengthens public finances and has money to pay back some old loans.
On the other hand, this gives us the opportunity to react when it comes to the procurement of gas and some other energy sources, it gives us the opportunity to overcome this crisis with as few negative consequences as possible, underlined Mali.
