The Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija today announced that the head of the centre, Sanda Raskovic-Ivic, is in Kosov-Metohija today in order to meet with journalists at the International Press Centre KC in Kosovska Mitrovica, followed by a visit to the monasteries of Devic, Gorioc and Pecka Patrijarsija.
Raskovic-Ivic, in talks with the sisterhood of the monastery Devic, expressed special interest in the conditions of their lives and the service of the monastery.
Prioress Anastasija and other nuns said that they survive only due to the soldiers of the French contingent of KFOR who guard the ruined monasteries, that communication with the outside world for them is very difficult, while the cultivable land of the monastery has been usurped.
The Gorioc and Pecka Partrijarsija monasteries are in a similar condition and survive solely due to the presence of Spanish and Italian soldiers of KFOR.
Raskovic-Ivic promised the monks and nuns help of all kind and took special interest in their perceptions and suggestions concerning the upcoming talks on the future of Kosovo-Metohija.
