Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic and Permanent Coordinator of the UN in Serbia Françoise Jacob discussed today the continuation of successful cooperation in the energy sector with a focus on green transition, energy efficiency and reduction of energy poverty.

The participants in the meeting also discussed the presentation of Serbia's results at the upcoming climate change conference (COP27).
With the support of the UN and through joint work, we will prepare a plan for further implementation, and I am sure that at COP27 we can present Serbia through achieved results, examples of good practice, but also discuss the challenges which all countries are facing, Mihajlovic assessed.
Jacob welcomed the adoption of the Nationally determined contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, in accordance with the Paris Agreement, and pointed out that at the upcoming COP27 event, the focus will be on the implementation of public policies.
Jacob pointed out that climate change will be one of the main topics at the upcoming UN General Assembly, and that this organisation will support Serbia in reforms in the energy sector.
