Speaking at a press conference after the first round of negotiations on stabilisation and association with the EU, Labus said that today's talks focused on the eighth chapter of the agreement, which refers to the cooperation policies, and the fourth chapter, which refers to free flow of goods.
He announced that tomorrow Serbia and Montenegro will hold separate talks on goods annexes, that is, on the lists of industrial products that should be protected, and of those whose protection should be reduced.
The Serbian negotiating team divided all goods into insensitive, sensitive, very sensitive, and introduced the category of extremely sensitive goods, said Labus and added that the Serbian team gave a proposal of liberalisation of trade in industrial goods which the European Union will be discussing over next two or three months.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the proposed ten-year transitional period for liberalisation of trade is only a "working hypothesis", adding that it will surely be reduced in the course of negotiations.
Labus said that the next round of negotiations due in February will be held only if full cooperation with the Hague tribunal is realised.
