At a joint press conference with Aurescu, Selakovic expressed gratitude to Romania for its support for Serbia's European integration and for the support it provides to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, on the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.
We have shown our determination to do everything to make our relations better and more meaningful in the future through further activities of line ministries. Today, a strong political message was sent from Bucharest that Serbia and Romania are determined to deepen cooperation and expand dialogue in all areas that are important for our two countries, Selakovic reiterated.
The Minister stated that the determination of Serbia and Romania to do everything in their power to preserve stability and peace was jointly emphasized at the meeting.
The head of Serbian diplomacy emphasised that Serbia is grateful to friendly Romania for the support it provides us in the process of European integration, which has gained importance in complex circumstances and in the context of new geopolitical challenges.
The head of Serbian diplomacy emphasised that Serbia pays great attention to the rights of members of national minorities in Serbia and that he perceives them as an important bridge between the home countries and the minority and Serbia itself.
According to him, two important agreements between the governments of Serbia and Romania were signed in Bucharest today, namely the Agreement on Cooperation in Education, Science, Culture, Media, Youth and Sports and the Agreement on Giving the Lucafarul Building in Vrsac to Romania.
Both agreements are a confirmation of our readiness to improve cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of our two peoples, said the head of Serbian diplomacy.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive dialogue between Romania and Serbia, conveying the belief that such a dialogue will enable the common goals of our two countries to be achieved.
Aurescu pointed out that Serbia is Romania's important partner in the region and that he talked with his Serbian counterpart about economic cooperation, stating that last year the exchange was almost two billion euros, and that according to the data for this year, it is increasing.
