Successful cooperation with Russia in field of agriculture

Minister without portfolio in charge of innovation and technological development Nenad Popovic and Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev expressed satisfaction with successful cooperation in agriculture and food industry based on duty-free agreement two states.

Popovic, who is also the chairman of the Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation with Russia, and Patrushev met on the sidelines of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum "SPIEF2022".

Popovic reminded that in 2021, the value of the total exchange of agricultural and food products amounted to close to $419 million, of which exports were worth $303.5 million, and imports $115.5 million.

He stated that in 2021, apples were the most important export product worth $94.1 million, adding that the export of agri-food products in the period January-April 2022 amounted to $96.5 million, while the value imports were $ 37.5 million.

The Minister emphasised that it is very important to establish a connection and more intensive cooperation of our businessmen with the largest trade chains in the Russian Federation.

Patrushev pointed out that there is a great interest of the Russian side in increasing the import of agricultural products, primarily fruits, vegetables, chicken and pork, meat products, cheeses, dairy products, juice concentrates and veterinary preparations.
