2023 Fiscal Strategy with projections for 2024 and 2025 adopted

The Serbian government adopted today the 2023 Fiscal Strategy with projections for 2024 and 2025, which enables realisation of basic goals of the government in defining the economic and fiscal policies and balancing the macroeconomic and fiscal position of the state, given the scale of the health and economic crisis caused by coronavirus in 2020 and 2021.

The Strategy is the basic document of the government in terms of establishing the fiscal position of the country and defines the projections of the entire fiscal framework in the period from 2023 to 2025, which means total revenues, expenditures, deficit and public debt of the state sector.

In view of a drastic increase in electricity prices on the stock exchanges over the last few months, the Serbian government adopted a Conclusion recommending the public utility company “Electric Power Industry of Serbia” to carry out reserve supply with electricity of end users who do not have the right to guaranteed supply, in the period from 1 July to 31 August 2022 at the price of €97.50/MWh without VAT, so as not to jeopardise business environment in Serbia.

In addition, with the aim of protecting the market, the economy and security of citizens, the Serbian government decided to set the electricity price for customers on the commercial market at €75/MWh without VAT in the period from 1 July to 31 August 2022.
