The Serbian government adopted today the amended Decree on the limitation of prices of basic foodstuffs, which restricts the retail price of crystal sugar for all packages.
The price of crystal sugar in 1kg package remains limited at RSD 89.99.
The Decree is passed in order to protect the market due to a hike in the prices of crystal sugar in bigger packages, given that only the price for the 1kg package is limited.
Due to a big price difference, the demand for 1kg packages has increased and there is often a shortage of it in retail stores.
The Decree prescribes that wholesalers must distribute crystal sugar to retailers within 15 days.
The Serbian government adopted the Decision on temporary ban on export of wood assortments of essential importance for the Republic of Serbia.
Due to increased exports in previous years and increased demand for this type of fuel on the world market, a shortage of such assortments affected the most producers of pellets and firewood.
The temporary ban on export is limited to 60 days.
A decision temporary reducing the excise on leaded gasoline, unleaded gasoline and gas oils until 30 June this year was also adopted.
This decision was made in order to secure a regular supply of the market with petroleum products, preserve the living standard of citizens and the economy in view of the current situation with the price of crude oil on the world market and its tendency of further growth which negatively affects the country’s macroeconomic stability.
