Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus and Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia-Montenegro Maurizio Massari agreed at today's meeting that the Serbian government has made significant steps in the process of EU integration, implementation of economic reforms and privatisation, as well as cooperation with the Hague tribunal. They both pointed to the necessity of further continuation of full cooperation with the tribunal.

At the meeting marking the expiry of Massari's term in office in Serbia-Montenegro, Labus said that Massari proved himself a great friend of the country and thanked him on everything he has done for Serbia in the past three years by supporting democracy and respect of human and minority rights.
Massari said that, in spite of problems, significant progress has been made in the past few years and expressed satisfaction with the OSCE Mission's contribution to the progress achieved.
Labus and Massari agreed that the referendum in Montenegro must not slow down the talks on stabilisation and association with the EU, and added that it must be conducted in a democratic way, with clearly defined rules and agreement between the government and the opposition.
