According to a statement by the ministry, the two officials looked at the positive results of the past cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the OSCE when it comes to bringing Serbian regulations in line with the international and European standards, improving the material working conditions of the judiciary, and conducting training and professional development of judges and prosecutors who must become competent enough to implement new legal solutions.
Stojkovic announced that an action plan for fighting corruption will be publicly discussed in late December, and a new Code on Criminal Procedures in late January 2006. The Serbian parliament will discuss both documents at its regular spring session.
Stojkovic and Massari agreed that, in the future, the OSCE's assistance will be invaluable to Serbia and to its judiciary as well, reads the statement.
Stojkovic and Massari concluded that apart from successful cooperation, the OSCE established friendly relations with Serbia during Massari's term of office, and voiced hope that the next Head of the OSCE Mission to Belgrade will continue to improve and develop this cooperation.
