The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that yesterday, in the village of Kovrage in the municipality of Istok, a new incident occurred in which Albanian extremists robbed the house of Misko Pumpalovic's returnee family.
The incident happened while Pumpalovic was receiving treatment in central Serbia, and yesterday, on his return, he found a broken-down house, from which hooligans took away some furniture, a refrigerator, a stove, a washing machine, tools and utensils.
The returnee family Pumpalovic has been the target of attacks by Albanian vandals several times, and Misko's brother Radoje has been attacked six times in recent years, all with the aim of preventing Serbs from feeling safe and driving them from their doorsteps.
Returning families of Serbs are often the target of attacks, and the fact that the rate of return of Serbs to Kosovo and Metohija is less than two percent and the lowest in one post-conflict area speaks volumes about the degree of their endangerment.
The drastic jump in the number of attacks on Serbs and their property, which are twice as many as in the same period last year, clearly indicates that anti-Serb hysteria is in force, synchronised with statements by politicians from Pristina, with a clear message that Serbs are not welcome centuries-old hearths.
