The celebration of the beginning of the Chinese New Year – the year of the tiger will begin with a festive fireworks display on Monday, 31 January, at 5 pm, on the Sava Promenade, in front of the "Belgrade" Gallery.
This year's celebration of the Chinese New Year in Belgrade and Novi Sad is under the general auspices of the government of Serbia, the City of Belgrade and the City of Novi Sad, with the support of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Serbia and the Belt and Road Institute in Belgrade.
The light installations at the Sava Promenade will be set up as part of the Chinese Light Festival from 31 January to 13 February.
All citizens and guests of the City of Novi Sad in Liman Park will be able to visit this festival in the same period.
Admission is free for all visitors, and the entire festival will be organised with full respect for all epidemiological measures.
As part of the celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Belt and Road Institute Belgrade will organize a "Think-Tank" conference on "Sustainability of a Common Future" for the first time on 18 February.
The one-day panel discussion will bring together numerous experts from various fields, who will exchange their expertise and experiences, all with the aim of joint progress and creating the most promising future and joint cooperation, as the basic symbol of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Serbia is one of the 28 founding countries of this initiative, which now has more than 100 states. Participants from Kenya, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary and, of course, China are expected to be present in the hybrid (online and in-room) model, which will contribute to thinking about a sustainable future, taking into account the 2030 Agenda and other important guidelines.
