Labus meets Friedbert Pfluger, parliamentary secretary of state in the Federal Ministry of Defense
Labus, who was in Berlin on Saturday where he talked with state secretaries in the ministries of internal affairs, defence and finance, said in a statement to the news agency Tanjug that in the opinion of German politicians, the unresolved issue of the constitution and budget of the EU will not be an obstacle in Serbia-Montenegro’s path to Europe.
He said that in talks with German politicians the issue of bilateral cooperation, the situation in Kosovo-Methojia, as well as European themes were also discussed and expressed satisfaction with the meetings that represent continuation of positive relations between Belgrade and Berlin.
Labus said that politicians in Berlin expressed conviction that Belgrade will have a unified voice on the issue of Kosovo-Metohija and the referendum in Montenegro.
According to Labus, high ranking representatives of German ministries, while considering the issue of Kosovo-Metohija, expressed the opinion that first the question of standards has to be resolved, then the status of the province.
During his stay in Berlin, Labus participated in an international conference organised by the Society for Southeastern Europe, which was dedicated to the countries of the region, their European perspective, as well as the challenges they face.
According to Labus, the basic message of this conference was that the process of EU enlargement will be continued, and that the countries of the region must contribute to it.
