Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic said at a meeting of the Energy Community Ministerial Council that climate challenges are the most important topic which the global energy sector is facing.
Speaking in the capacity of chairperson at the meeting of the 19th Ministerial Council, Mihajlovic underlined that everything we want to achieve in order to increase energy security must be predetermined by environmental protection.
That is our obligation not only from strategic documents, but towards our planet too. That is why we accepted the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, and we must work for cleaner energy. It is a hard road on which we must persevere, she pointed out.
Mihajlovic said that Serbia is taking actions in the process of energy transition and that the amended legislative framework is the basis for the Green Agenda.
She recalled that in the first half of the year, important regulatory reforms were implemented in the sphere of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
