Over the past few years, we have managed to place the army and defence industry on the pedestal of people’s trust, which certainly belongs to them, not only for their historical merits, Vucic underlined.
The Serbian President noted that it is important to develop our defence industry so as to be able to keep peace and stability and not to be humiliated and endangered.
He said that it is difficult to compete with great powers in the promotion of armament and military equipment, but that it is important to build one’s own way in that field too, to choose the segments of armament in which we can compete with the best.
After opening the fair, Vucic visited the exhibitions in Hall 1 and Hall 4 of the Belgrade Fair together with Stefanovic and Mojsilovic.
A new infantry fighting vehicle “Lazanski” with a remotely controlled combat station of 57 millimetres drew special attention. The vehicle was named after legendary military journalist, analyst and publicist Miroslav Lazanski.
This year’s fair gathers a total of 132 exhibitors from Serbia and 16 foreign countries – Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Croatia, Italy, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
