Serbian parliament adopts 2004 budget law

The Serbian parliament approved the 2004 budget law at a session yesterday, also adopting a package of financial laws proposed by the government.
Following a ten-hour debate, lawmakers adopted a law on public revenues and spending, and a law on local self-government.
The parliament also passed a law determining the share of Serbian municipalities and towns in overall revenues collected from income and sale taxes in 2004, as well as a law that will replace the current payroll tax law.
