Joint platform for talks with EU adopted

In a meeting today the heads of the negotiating teams of Serbia, Montenegro and Serbia-Montenegro, Miroljub Labus, Miodrag Vlahovic and Vuk Draskovic respectively, adopted the joint platform for the beginning of talks on the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU, scheduled to start on November 7.

Labus said that several open issues have been resolved at the meeting, as well as five chapters: the preamble, political, regional and financial cooperation and other forms of cooperation.
He pointed out that the state union now has a platform and the talks can begin on November 7.
Vlahovic said that the meeting confirmed the original jurisdiction of member countries, or republics, which means that something can be taken as a viewpoint of the state union only if the republics previously agree upon it.
