Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali stated today that the real GDP growth in the first quarter of this year, in relation to the same period last year, amounted to 1.7 percent and that Serbia again made one of the best results in Europe when it comes to GDP growth.

Mali said that these results were released today by the Serbian Statistical Office and added that we have a better result now, although the basis from the last year for the first quarter was very high, at 5.2 percent.
He reiterated that Serbia, despite the pandemic that is ongoing, achieves great results in all fields and is one of the leaders not only in the fight against the coronavirus, but also in GDP growth.
According to a flash estimate of Eurostat, Serbia has achieved one of the best results in Europe when it comes to GDP growth, the Minister pointed out and voiced hope that it will be like that in June too, after the publication of final results for the first quarter.
He said that the growth of GDP creates space for the increase in pensions and salaries, which is a step forward in raising the quality of life of the citizens.
