Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus, Croatian Minister of EU Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic and Dutch Minister for Development Cooperation Agnes van Ardenne-van der Hoeven signed today in Vukovar a declaration on re-establishing the ferryboat line across the Danube River on the border between the Bac-Vukovar municipalities, in a project worth more than one million euros and which was supported by a donation from the Netherlands.

Considering the fact that there is no bridge across the Danube at this location, the reopening of this small border crossing will make possible direct trade and transit, as well as communication between citizens of two neighbouring countries and particularly these two neighbouring municipalities.
During his one-day visit to Vukovar, Labus also met with representatives of the Serbian community and said of that occasion that close cooperation of Serbian and Croatian governments with legitimate bodies of ethnic Serbian communities in Croatia can contribute to resolving problems that Serbs face in that country.
Labus said that there are always questions open to discussion but they are not without solutions. He also said that with collective good will, gradually people in the area can be given a better life, adding that his talks with representatives of the Serbian community in Croatia have been very useful and the Serbian government, as well as the Croatian government, will be informed of these discussions.
President of the Independent Serbian Democratic Party Vojislav Stanimirovic said that he talked with the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister about problems concerning the return of refugees and the tenant rights of Serbs in Croatia.
Stanimirovic expressed expectation that the meeting of the prime ministers of the two countries, which is scheduled to take place soon, will provide a breakthrough in relations along with positive results.
