The Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija said that Raskovic-Ivic, in front of more than sixty distinguished diplomats, spoke about Belgrade’s current attitude on the latest political processes, the main points of Belgrade’s draft for the future of Kosovo-Metohija, about decentralisation of the province, as well as about her personal opinion concerning these issues, on the heels of her latest visit to Kosovo-Metohija.
Following the lecture, Raskovic-Ivic answered ambassadors’ questions, as well as question posed by diplomatic corps representatives.
Speaking about the decentralisation of Kosovo-Metohija, which is extremely significant for the upcoming international talks on the future of Kosovo-Metohija, the Head of the Coordinating Centre said that the Serbian government doesn’t have any secrets or secret plans and that it is not working on preparations for the division of the province. The Serbian government is committed to equal rights for all people living in Kosovo-Metohija, regardless of who is the minority or majority in Kosovo-Metohija’s municipalities.
She expressed conviction that Belgrade will be unanimous in the upcoming talks on the future of Kosovo-Metohija and reiterated that there is not a single politician in Serbia who will sign over Kosovo-Metohija’s independence. She also expressed hope that there will be Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the Belgrade delegation.
Members of the diplomatic corps greeted Sanda Raskovic-Ivic’s commitment to an open dialogue for the solving of the Kosovo-Metohija problem, reads the Coordinating Centre’s statement and concludes that the host of this lecture and dialogue was Carlos Abel Martese, the Argentinean Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro.
